Create a bootable Windows USB using MacOS

Tested on MacOS 15.2 (24C101) on Macbook Pro M2

  1. Download Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft
  2. Format the USB drive as ExFAT GUID

ExFAT is important, as FAT does not allow files to be larger than 4 GB

  3. Mount the Windows SIO
  4. Copy all files to the root of the USB drive using the following command:
rsync -avh --progress /Volumes/CCCOMA_X64FRE_EN-GB_DV9/* /Volumes/USB
