Subject: Disappointed in the union busting
I would appreciate that this message gets passed to the appropriate Fastmail leadership.
I'm unhappy with the mass layoffs of Fastmail's US bargaining unit. Losing 60% of your colleagues is just a devastating blow. I'm especially unhappy that Fastmail management declined to recognize the union, forcing an election, delaying bargaining, then laid off the entire bargaining unit. This is union-busting, plain and simple.
I have been a customer since 2015, but I am considering cancelling my plan knowing how the company treats its workers. I understand that the union is not calling for a boycott, but I cannot support a company does not support its workers.
Fastmail is 25 years old—old enough to rent a car here in the USA—how could management have misjudged the finances to this degree? Who made this decision and what was the justification?
Thanks in advance for your response.
