Do the commands above install both the stable and dev version of sublime text 2?
"

Hi

Here is the commands to install dev version
$ sudo apt-get install sublime-text-2-dev
and the commands to install beta version
$ sudo apt-get install sublime-text-2-beta
Thank you
Thanks for your reply!

Thank you from my side as well.... :)
Thank you devudilip
thanks a bunch you just saved me a lot of trouble
thank you :-)
add
subl
to your terminal by
sudo ln -s /path/to/Sublime\ Text\ 2/sublime_text /usr/bin/subl
This worked for me for the package name...
apt-get install sublime-text
Thank you, i work myself
@ryanl4321 - Thank you that worked!
~$ which sublime-text
/usr/bin/sublime-text
~$ ll $(!!)
ll $(which sublime-text)
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Jul 16 2012 /usr/bin/sublime-text -> sublime-text-2*
Although you "apt-get install sublime-text" ... sublime-text-2 is the actual binary.
this works for me
$sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/sublime-text-2
$ sudo apt-get install sublime-text-2-beta
[apt-get install sublime-text] works fine.
None of these work for me... Added the repository and sublime sublime-text sublime-text-2 and sublime-text-2-beta doesn't download anything. Receive Unable to locate package...
Edit: need to do an "apt-get update" then "apt-get install sublime-text" works
sudo apt-get install sublime-text
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package sublime-text
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install sublime-text-2-dev
@puntofisso is right only apt-get install sublime-text works for me
I'm having trouble installing sublime text 2 from their website onto Linux, Ubuntu. I tried many of the examples above and below and I get Errors and things Not Found. After downloading sublime text and when trying to open it the application isn't found. I don't know what to do with the package setup and sublime plug in. I'd love to get sublime's text editor opened and running. HELP! would be greatly appreciated!
@nbpro its worked for me thanks..............
