Since several people have asked I'll post how anyone can do this, and it's not actually that complicated since I've already gotten the apk file and so can share that.

1. If you don't already have a tablet you want to use you'll need to get one, I got the Amazon Fire HD 10
2. On the Android device you want to use as your new Ergatta device download the Ergatta apk file from either my Google Drive or this short URL version of it: https://shorturl.at/IbRzJ
3. You can use Chrome or whatever browser you have (Amazon Silk, etc). You might need to bypass some security restrictions on the device to download install this file. On my Fire's Silk Browser it prompted me that installing this app might be dangerous etc, but shows you how to bypass.
4. Remove the old Ergatta tablet from your rower
5. Attach the USB cable that was going into your old tablet into your new tablet, I'm using one of these USB-A to USB-C adapters since my Fire only supports USB-C
6. I got this VESA mount adapter to attach my Fire to the existing mount on the rower
7. Open the Ergatta app and everything should just work, fingers crossed :)

@benmoss Was able to get it working.

A couple quirks I'm seeing:

1. I'm unable to download updates, I get the notification, but it says "Download failed for some reason"
2. I know I set up Wifi initially, and it appears to be working, the Wifi setting doesn't seem to register I'm connected and just spins. If I turn off the Wifi toggle, it is stuck in the off position.

Not really a dealbreaker, all the workouts seem to work as intended.

@cbodtorf Yes I see the failure to update as well. There must have been a new release since I extracted the apk and I'm not sure if the app doesn't have internet access or just fails some kind of device validation check.

Are you able to use your subscription? I don't have an active one anymore so I just have the open row features.

@benmoss yea I set up a new profile and subscription during the onboarding, so internet works from that perspective.
